Security Forces Attempt to Block Kyagulanyi's Campaign Trail in Mubende and Kasanda

NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu faced disruptions and security interference while campaigning in Kasanda and Mubende.

Mubende/Kasanda, Uganda – Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate, faced significant disruptions and security force interference as he campaigned in the districts of Kasanda and Mubende.

Kyagulanyi's campaign began in Kasanda district and proceeded to Mubende, where he held a rally at Bukuya Playground. His convoy was met with resistance from security forces in several towns along the route, including Kalonga, Kyenda, and Katabalanga. Personnel attempted to block the road, creating a difficult and tense environment for his passage.

In a notable incident at a roadblock in Kitogoto, which separates Katabalanga from Mubende Town, police had completely sealed the road with patrol trucks, preventing the convoy from passing through the main town. Defying the blockade, Kyagulanyi proceeded on foot with determination, walking through the area to continue his campaign schedule.

Despite the obstacles, the candidate successfully reached Kyeguluso in Lwabagabo Ward, Mubende Municipality, where he held another rally.

Throughout his engagements, Kyagulanyi reiterated his commitment to his campaign's central message: fostering love and unity among Ugandans and empowering them to prosper in their own country.
