Lady Gazelles Gear Up for AfroBasket Tournament in Ivory Coast

Claire Lamunu joins Lady Gazelles’ national team camp in Egypt for FIBA Women’s AfroBasket.


Lady Gazelles' star player Claire Lamunu has joined the national women's basketball team camp in Egypt as they prepare for the upcoming FIBA Women's AfroBasket tournament.


Lamunu was part of the squad that competed in the last AfroBasket edition in Kigali, Rwanda (2023), where Uganda finished seventh.
Seasoned player Mya Wasswa has also reported to camp in Alexandria, while veteran Paige Robinson remains the only absentee so far.

Uganda has been drawn in Group A and will open their campaign against Guinea on Sunday, followed by a clash with Senegal on July 28 in Abidjan.
