KAMPALA – Uganda is preparing to mark its 63rd Independence Anniversary tomorrow, an event commemorating the country's liberation from British colonial rule. The celebrations are scheduled to take place at the Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds.

The Principal Coordinator of this national event, who is also a Senior Presidential Secretary in the Office of the President, Hajj Yunusu Kakande, has briefed the media on the arrangements for tomorrow's festivities.

 Kakande announced that Uganda has already received various distinguished guests, including a Minister from Russia and the Deputy Leader of Kenya, among many others. He confirmed that the ceremony will be a grand and dignified occasion.

Addressing the public, Kakande stated that every Ugandan is free to attend the celebrations at Kololo tomorrow to mark the country's 63 years of self-rule. Furthermore, he assured the nation from his office in Kampala that all preparations for the independence jubilee are fully in place.

In a highlight of the ceremony, Kakande revealed that 23 heroes will be recognized and awarded medals for their service to the nation.

Kakande emphasized that this year's independence is particularly significant as the country prepares for upcoming elections. He also outlined various developmental achievements accomplished by the NRM government over the past 40 years, within the broader context of Uganda's 63-year journey since independence.
