FDC's Nandala Mafabi Vows to Confront Land Grabbers in Hoima Over Oil, Criticizes Police Interference

Hoima, Uganda – The President of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi, has pledged to protect residents in the Bunyoro sub-region from land grabbers if he is elected President in the 2026 general elections.

The FDC leader made the declaration during a campaign stop in Hoima town, which lasted approximately three hours. Addressing a press conference at Kolping Hotel this morning, Mafabi strongly condemned individuals who are seizing community lands in the oil-rich region under the pretext of oil exploration activities.

Mafabi argued that police interference with his campaign activities is a violation of the electoral laws that grant him the right to canvass for votes.

Following the press conference, Mafabi officially opened his party's new campaign office in Hoima town, an event that was met with celebration by his supporters.

He also confirmed incidents of confrontation with police, accusing them of attempting to block his campaign movements.

After his engagements in Hoima, the FDC president proceeded to Bulisa District to continue his campaign trail for the 2026 elections.
