Presidential Media Engagement Directive

President Museveni also issued a standing order to all government officials, including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), and ministers, to actively engage with the media. This directive came in response to concerns raised by journalists from the Ankole sub-region, who reported that many officials fail to honor media invitations to explain government programs to the public.

The President emphasized the importance of effective communication in ensuring that citizens are well-informed about government initiatives. He instructed officials to comply with this directive and make themselves available for media engagements to provide clarity and updates on government programs.

The media interaction at Rwakitura highlighted the President’s commitment to addressing corruption, improving service delivery, and fostering transparency in the implementation of development programs like the PDM. His directives aim to strengthen accountability and ensure that resources reach the intended beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
