Uganda's Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja Clashes with Opposition Leader Joel Senyonyi Over Government Criticism

In today's parliamentary session, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja engaged in a heated exchange with Leader of the Opposition (LOP) Joel Senyonyi, who has been vocal in his criticism of the government's actions.

During the session, Senyonyi accused the government of targeting the National Unity Platform (NUP) offices in Makerere Kavule, describing the move as an attack on opposition activities. In response, Prime Minister Nabbanja dismissed the claims, stating that the government is focused on addressing legitimate issues and ensuring accountability. She further accused Senyonyi of politicizing matters and misleading the public on issues where the government has provided evidence.
Senyonyi, however, remained steadfast in his criticism, vowing to continue holding the government accountable. He stated, "As long as I am in this position, I will not tolerate actions that undermine the dignity of the nation's leadership or destabilize the government's authority."
The exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between the government and the opposition, particularly over issues of governance, accountability, and political space.
