President Museveni Addresses Concerns Over PDM Funds in Kampala, Pledges Increased Support

President Yoweri Museveni has responded to concerns raised by residents of Kawempe regarding the limited allocation of funds under the Parish Development Model (PDM). During his campaign visit to support NRM candidate Faridah Nambi in the Kawempe North by-election, the President assured residents that the government is working to increase PDM funding to address the high demand in urban areas.

President Museveni revealed that Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja had informed him about the challenges faced by residents in accessing PDM funds due to the large population in Kampala. He pledged that more funds would be allocated in the next financial year to ensure that more people benefit from the program.
The President also addressed concerns about potential violence during the by-election, urging residents to maintain peace and avoid any actions that could disrupt the electoral process. Ministers Godfrey Kabyanga and Herbert Kinobera echoed this message, warning against any form of violence or intimidation.

Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde, the NRM Women’s League Chairperson, expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the by-election. She praised President Museveni for his leadership and the NRM’s efforts to improve the lives of Ugandans.

Mariam Nsereko, another NRM leader, commended the party’s campaign team for their hard work and urged residents to support Faridah Nambi. She also called for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure a successful election.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja highlighted the achievements of the NRM government in Kawempe, including infrastructure development and improved access to social services. She urged residents to vote for Faridah Nambi to continue the progress.
Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, the NRM Vice Chairperson, praised the residents of Kawempe for their peaceful conduct during the campaign period. He urged them to maintain this spirit during the election and beyond

President Museveni also addressed the issue of water shortages in Kampala, revealing that the government had initiated plans to expand water supply systems. However, he noted that the lack of a clear master plan had delayed progress. He pledged to prioritize the expansion of water infrastructure in the city.

Faridah Nambi, the NRM candidate, expressed gratitude to President Museveni and the NRM leadership for their support. She pledged to work tirelessly to address the needs of Kawempe residents if elected.
