One Shot in NRM Campaigns In Kasambya County In Mubende District

Violence erupts in Kasambya County as NRM Campaigns Turn Chaotic  

Mubende, Uganda – Tensions flared during the NRM party primaries in Kasambya County, Mubende District, leaving one person shot in the leg and two vehicles plus a motorcycle, burnt in escalating political violence.  

Shooting Incident: A supporter was shot in the leg during clashes between rival NRM factions.  
 Arson Attacks: Two campaign vehicles and a motorcycle were set ablaze, deepening fears of further unrest. Police Deployment: Security forces rushed to the scene to restore order, but tensions remain high.  


 
 Fierce Competition: Rival NRM candidates are battling for dominance ahead of the 2026 elections.  
 Allegations of Rigging: Supporters accuse opponents of vote manipulation, sparking retaliatory attacks.Historical Tensions: Kasambya has seen past electoral violence, raising concerns about repeat clashes.  
 
Investigations are ongoing to identify the instigators of the violence.
