The NRM party has gained a prominent former NUP member. Joseph Kayemba once a NUP leader in Busiro South today submitted nomination papers to compete in NRM primaries. The exercise runs until July 16 this year.
Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba convinced and guided me to join NRM. After comparing development records, NRM’s achievements outweighed others." He then defected from NUP.
Today, the NRM Electoral Commission issued him clearance papers to compete in the party primaries.

Kayemba declared , I will develop Busiro South in education, healthcare, and other sectors, He added ,This time, NRM will reclaim this parliamentary seat. For too long, opposition candidates have taken it. He promised NRM supporters victory.
Kayemba will return next week to complete documentation for final approval by Dr. Tanga Odoi’s commission.
KAMPALA LORD MAYOR RACE
Meanwhile, NRM youth are emerging to contest for Kampala Lord Mayor.
Ssendagire Muhammad (NRM Secretariat staff) declared his bid for the NRM ticket to unseat Erias Lukwago.
"Lukwago has failed Kampala. Why re-elect him? I will enter City Hall to work for the people in Kampala.
Kawesa Muhammad also aims for the Lord Mayor seat, claiming he can defeat Lukwago in elections.
