NRM Youth League Condemns Fake Letter Targeting Aspiring MP
Manafwa District – Tension flared as the NRM Youth League in Manafwa District held an emergency meeting to denounce a controversial letter circulating on social media, allegedly written by one of their members, Ivan Mandu, calling for the disqualification of aspiring Woman MP Annet Musisibikha.
In a charged gathering attended by all 37 sub-county youth leaders, the NRM Youth League Chairman for Manafwa, Mr. Waraba Gilebert, expressed shock and anger over the letter, which claimed that Musisibikha was ineligible to contest because she is "not a resident of Manafwa."Â Â
"We were shocked to see such a letter circulating with our name! Who is this Ivan Mandu? He is not one of us! We don’t know him, and we don’t know where he got the authority to write such nonsense!" Waraba declared, sparking murmurs of agreement from the crowd. Â
He emphasized that the youth in Manafwa are non-partisan and will not be used as pawns in political wars. "We are ready to support any leader with a clear plan for the youth, but we will not allow desperate politicians to use us to fight their battles!" he vowed. Â
The meeting grew more dramatic as enraged youth leaders called for the immediate arrest of the alleged author of the letter, Ivan Mandu. Â
This person is tarnishing our name! We must find him and force him to reveal who sent him!" one youth leader shouted, as others nodded in agreement. The youth resolved to work with security agencies to track down the so-called "imposter" and expose those behind the scheme. Â
 Â
Amid the chaos, the embattled aspiring MP, Annet Musisibikha, made a surprise appearance, thanking the youth for standing with her and dismissing the allegations as "desperate blackmail."Â Â
"I want to thank the youth for seeing the truth. My opponents have nothing to offer the people of Manafwa, so they have resorted to cheap politics," she said, her voice dripping with defiance. Â
She didn’t stop there. In a thinly veiled attack, Musisibikha pointed fingers at the incumbent MP, accusing her of orchestrating the smear campaign. Â
"For ten years, what has she done for Manafwa? Now, instead of accounting for her failures, she is busy sponsoring fake letters to tarnish my name. But I want to tell my supporters—don’t worry. God is with us, and victory is certain!Â
Â
The incident has sparked a fresh wave of political tension in Manafwa, with many now questioning the tactics being employed ahead of the elections. Â
Will the youth succeed in unmasking "Ivan Mandu"? Is the incumbent MP truly behind the letter, as Musisibikha claims? And will this drama sway voters, or will it backfire on those orchestrating it? Â
One thing is clear—Manafwa’s political battlefield just got hotter, and the youth are not backing down.Â
