NRM Lubaga Strategize To Mobilize Support For Their Candidate

In Kampala, one of the densely populated districts within Buganda, local NRM supporters in Lubaga Division have gathered to strategise on how to mobilise and deliver overwhelming support for their beloved candidate.

Kampala, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson has taken the party’s campaign flag to the Buganda region, as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni prepares to begin canvassing for votes there this Monday, the 15th of this month.

In Kampala, one of the densely populated districts within Buganda, local NRM supporters in Lubaga Division have gathered to strategise on how to mobilise and deliver overwhelming support for their beloved candidate.

Many of these supporters are beneficiaries of the State House-initiated Youth Wealth Creation Program. They convened at the KCCA Primary School grounds to testify how the NRM government has transformed their livelihoods, reigniting their hope for development.

However, some attendees expressed concern, noting that not all youth feel represented by the NRM. They claim that exclusion from various government programs has left some disillusioned. Yet, for those involved in the Youth Wealth Creation Program, loyalty remains strong—citing it as a key reason they will back President Museveni as he campaigns in Buganda.

Mr Faizo Ndase, the head of the Youth Wealth Creation Program, was the guest of honour at the gathering. He urged attendees to support the NRM without fear, emphasising his role in uniting Ugandans and maintaining peace.

Ndase further announced that the government will help the youth form a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation (SACCO) to foster economic growth and provide them with leadership training to manage it effectively.

Other NRM leaders also voiced their commitment. Notable among them was Ms Nahia Mubiru, the NRM Women’s League Chairperson for Lubaga, who vowed to mobilise women to support President Museveni’s campaign in Kampala.

Ms Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller, oversees the Youth Wealth Creation Program. According to Faizo Ndase, Barekye has provided resources for supporters to go door-to-door canvassing for votes ahead of the President’s visit.
