It was a day of celebration at Munyonyo as 1,050 students graduated from Cavendish University, hailing from 33 countries across Africa, America, Asia, and beyond.
By 9:21 AM, guests had begun arriving, led by the Chancellor of the university, H.E. Ebele Jonathan Goodluck, former President of Nigeria.
In his address, Chancellor Goodluck emphasized that excellence is a vital quality that students must embrace. He advised the graduates to be patient and productive rather than idle, urging them to be creators of opportunities rather than seekers of handouts. He also reminded them that technology continues to advance globally, and they must harness it to develop their talents and apply the knowledge they have acquired to solve real-world challenges.

Sanjay Tana, the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, encouraged the graduates to prioritize self-employment over job-seeking, noting that the government has done much to lift Ugandans out of poverty. He expressed satisfaction with the high standards at Cavendish University, which produce graduates capable of standing on their own. He applauded the university leadership for attracting students from diverse countries, which enhances international cooperation, and urged the graduates to love their countries rather than speak ill of them, reminding them that every nation has its strengths.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Cavendish University, Dr. Olive Sabiiti, said the institution had done everything possible to improve students' skills by engaging them in various competitions, which have enabled them to build strong networks with other nations.
Cosmas Mukirize, a special guest at the graduation, advised the graduates to stop comparing themselves with others, warning that such comparisons could lead to defeat by their enemies. He also encouraged them to maintain good records of their achievements to ensure proper planning and progress.

The graduating students expressed their joy and satisfaction with the education they received from Cavendish University. Among them was Kajangu Moses, an employee of Salt Media, who completed his studies in International Relations.
