NRM Launches Campaign To Reclaim Lubaga South, Vows To Deliver Ahead Of 2026 Elections

The NRM leaders in Lubaga South sub-county have initiated their campaign to reclaim the area from the opposition, aiming to strengthen their presence in all leadership positions.

Residents and local leaders in this area have expressed frustration, stating that for many years, they have elected leaders from opposition parties that oppose the NRM government. However, they claim to have seen little to no development as a result. Now, as the 2026 elections approach, they are determined to change this by electing NRM leaders so they can also benefit from the national cake.

Major figures like the NRM chairperson for Lubaga and those aspiring for positions such as Lord Mayor in Kampala have emphasized that the NRM is determined to regain control in Lubaga. They claim that the party has already made significant strides in the area.

These leaders argue that the NRM has delivered tangible development to the people of Lubaga, with all major projects being implemented transparently and without corruption. They insist that Lubaga residents have nothing to lose by supporting NRM leaders.

The group gathered in Kabowa, where they had previously clashed with NRM mobilizers in Lubaga South. They are now rolling out their manifesto, outlining how they plan to campaign in the upcoming elections, focusing on the achievements of the NRM government in Lubaga over the past five years.

The meeting was attended by Minister Kanyogo from Luwero, who urged the people of Lubaga to trust the NRM party, emphasizing that it remains strong and capable. He encouraged them to elect NRM leaders who work closely with the President, who is also the NRM leader, to ensure they benefit from national development.

The speaker of Lubaga sub-county, Musa Mbazira, who is leading the NRM mobilization efforts in Lubaga, stated that it is time for residents to change their lives by electing a party that will deliver on their needs.

Currently, in Lubaga South, as well as in the broader Lubaga area (both North and South), many parliamentary representatives and councilors come from opposition parties that oppose the NRM. However, there is a growing desire among residents to see this trend reversed, with more NRM leaders emerging in the area.
