The NRM Electoral Committee, led by Dr. Tanga Odoi, has issued a stern warning against individuals submitting forged nomination documents to contest for parliamentary and LC5 positions. Dr. Odoi emphasised that those found with falsified papers will face legal consequences, including disqualification and prosecution. Â

Speaking at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters, Dr. Tanga Odoi also cautioned against voter bribery and intimidation during campaigns. He stated that anyone caught engaging in such malpractices will be arrested and dealt with according to the law. Â

Additionally, Dr. Odoi revealed that some individuals have already been apprehended for allegedly bribing voters in the ongoing electoral processes. Â

Former Security Minister Henry Tumukunde attempted to submit his nomination papers for the Rukungiri constituency but was turned away due to incomplete documentation. Â

- Several ministers, including Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba (Mityana Woman MP), State Ministers Godfrey Kabyanga (ICT) and Fred Byamukama (Transport), as well as the Minister for Economic Monitoring, have successfully submitted their nomination forms. Â

- Cecilia Anyakoit, another aspirant, stated that she will consult with Vice President Jessica Alupo before proceeding, citing strong public demand for her candidacy. Â

NRM officials ,have reassured the public that the nomination exercise will proceed smoothly, with over 300 candidates already cleared to contest for MP and LC5 positions.
