NRM Electoral Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi Taunts Defeated Government Bigwigs

NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi mocked defeated NRM leaders, predicting greater humiliation in the general elections.

The Chairman of the NRM Electoral Commission, Dr. Tanga Odoi, has mocked senior NRM leaders who lost in the party primaries, warning that they will face even greater humiliation in the general elections because the voters who rejected them are still the same.

Over 100 petitioners have filed complaints with the NRM Electoral Commission, challenging the results of the party primaries. Some are demanding the right to recontest in the general elections as independents. This was confirmed by Dr. Tanga Odoi during a press conference at his office in Kyadondo.

Dr. Tanga Odoi recalled how in the 2021 elections, he warned NRM members who had become arrogant and stopped serving the people. He noted that some of these leaders have not changed; that’s why voters have now punished them in the primaries.
He sarcastically remarked that the defeated bigwigs should accept the primary results because if they choose to run as independents, they will be crushed again—since the voters have already made their decision.
State Minister for Works, Musa Ecweru (MP for Amuria County) – Claims his opponent bribed schoolchildren. He insists he will run as an independent because his loss was unfair.
Nakasongola MP Mutebi Wanzara – Presented lawyers led by John Tumwine, alleging electoral malpractices.
Javiira Dhikusooka (Kagoma North) – Accuses the NRM spokesperson, Brandon Kintu, of manipulating his victory.
Other petitioners submitted evidence, including marked ballots and result declarations, vowing to go independent if justice is not served.
