Buwaya Cell, Butiru Town – The atmosphere was electric at the memorial service of the late Mzee Dominic Wekudda, as the aspiring Woman MP for Manafwa District, Hon. Musibikha Annet, delivered a fiery speech that turned the somber gathering into a political rallying ground.
"We cannot keep drinking old wine from old bottles! Manafwa needs new leadership, fresh ideas, and a bold new direction!" she roared, sending the crowd into wild cheers.
The event, initially meant to honor the late Wekudda—a respected elder and grandfather to Annet—quickly shifted into a high-energy political showdown as speakers took turns endorsing the rising star. Among them was John Masolo, a longtime resident, who declared, "Manafwa has suffered for too long under the same faces. It’s time for change!"
In a dramatic twist, over 20 Rose Mutoni campaign coordinators publicly crossed to Annet’s camp, declaring their support for her vision. "We can’t follow leaders who recycle the same promises. Annet is the future!" shouted Patrick Wamukota , a former Mutoni loyalist, as he tore his old campaign posters.
Speakers didn’t hold back in criticizing the current leadership. "Our district has become a laughingstock—poor roads, failing health centers, and endless corruption. Annet will clean house!" proclaimed David Wepukhulu, a local businessman.
With the NRM primaries fast approaching, Annet’s momentum seems unstoppable. Many candidates are reportedly dropping out, unable to match her grassroots mobilization.
"I respect the past leaders, but it’s time for them to rest. Let them become think tanks while we bring new energy!" she declared, as supporters chanted, "New Wine! New Bottle!"
As the sun set over Buwaya Cell, one thing was clear, Manafwa is ready for revolution. And Musibikha Annet is leading the charge.
Will the voters have the new wine? Or stick to the old bottle?
