Lwemiyaga MP Ssekikubo Condemns UPDF Soldier over Civilian Shooting

Lwemiyaga County Member of Parliament, Hon. Theodore Ssekikubo, has expressed deep sorrow and outrage in Parliament following the recent shooting incident that claimed the life of Fred Ssembuusi and left several others injured.

The attack, allegedly carried out by a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier, has sparked widespread concern.

Ssekikubo strongly condemned the incident, which occurred in Lwemiyaga. He identified the accused officer as Lt. Zziwa, a UPDF soldier who reportedly opened fire on unarmed civilians. Among those injured is Moses Tulinganya, who remains hospitalized and is currently, receiving treatment.

A visibly emotional Ssekikubo described the attack as brutal and unjustified, warning that such actions reflect a dangerous misuse of military power against innocent civilians. He called for a thorough investigation and justice for the victims.
