Kiira Municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda Joins People’s Front for Freedom

Working together as the opposition is important, but we don’t have to belong to the same political party

Kira Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, has officially picked expression of interest forms under the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), marking a significant shift in his political trajectory.

Speaking to the press shortly after collecting the forms, Ssemujju clarified that his decision does not signify a departure from the broader opposition agenda. He underscored the importance of unity among opposition forces, while also stressing that such unity does not require all actors to belong to the same political party.

“Working together as the opposition is important, but we don’t have to belong to the same political party,” Ssemujju said. “I have chosen the PFF because I believe in its message and structure, but I remain committed to the collective struggle for a better Uganda.”

The veteran legislator, formerly a key figure in the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), explained that his move is motivated by the need to form strategic alliances without being restricted by rigid party structures.
