His Royal Highness Umuukuka of Bamasaba Fires Back at Critics: 'You Are Chasing Air'

In a bold and resolute address to his cabinet and clan leaders, His Royal Highness Mike Jude Mudoma, the Umukuuka  of Inzu Ya Masaba, has dismissed critics calling for his removal from office before the end of his five-year term. Speaking to a gathering of leaders from the 26 clans and ministers of the cultural institution, Mudoma described his detractors as "chasing air" and vowed to remain steadfast in his commitment to serving the Bamasaba people.

The Umuukuka , who has faced accusations of attempting to amend the constitution to extend his rule indefinitely and change the name of the cultural institution, firmly denied all allegations. He emphasized that his focus remains on delivering development projects, including a significant 2 billion shilling initiative aimed at benefiting the people of Bugisu.

Mudoma did not hold back in addressing the source of the criticism, revealing that some of his opponents were individuals he had previously refused to support after they organized a general assembly without his knowledge in an attempt to overthrow him. He expressed disappointment that these individuals have now resorted to forming WhatsApp groups to spread abuse and misinformation.

"Those shouting at me should find something better to do," Mudoma declared. "Their abuses will not stop me from working for the 3 million Bamasaba. I am here to serve, and I will not be distracted."

The Umuukuka  also extended an olive branch to those with genuine grievances, urging them to bring their concerns to the table for discussion rather than resorting to social media platforms. "If anyone has issues with my style of work, let us sit down and talk like leaders. WhatsApp groups are not the place to resolve our differences," he stated.

In a show of solidarity, the 26 clan leaders present at the meeting reaffirmed their unwavering support for Mudoma, pledging to stand by him and prevent any attempts to sow confusion in Masaba land. They emphasized that the Umuukuka  has their full backing and that no external forces would be allowed to disrupt the unity and progress of the cultural institution.

As the Umuukuka  of Bugisu continues to navigate the challenges posed by his critics, his message remains clear: he is committed to his role as a leader and will not be deterred by those seeking to undermine his authority. With major development projects on the horizon and the support of his people, Mudoma is determined to leave a lasting legacy for the Bamasaba community.

For now, the Umuukuka's  critics may continue to "chase air," but Mudoma's focus remains firmly on the ground, working for the betterment of Bugisu.
