Former youth Mp Babirye Sarah Kityo quits Netball wrangles to elective politics
Former youth Mp Sarah Kityo has finally opted to join her political carrier after her efforts to lead the netball sport were frustrated due to administrative wrangles.
Babirye a former youth Mp in the ninth parliament who lost her sit after her tenure of office elapsed says she has decided to revive her mother constituency Bukoto east after the region has been lacking service delivery.
Speaking to this website after nomination Babirye says the region has been lagging behind by not benefiting from various government programs because the region has been predominantly occupied by opposition.
She has singled out former leaders who include the current mayor of Masaka city Florence Namayanja who was DP and the current Mp Evan Kanyike who subscribe to the national unit platform.
Babirye  is former president of  Uganda Netball Federation, a position she assumed in 2021 serving up to 2025.
