Opposition has no position in Acholi, says minister Oryem Okello
The state minister for foreign affairs Henry Oryem Okello   has rubbished claims of opposition ever to collect any vote in the northern region. Oryem says the northern region has been disappointed by the opposition as it was over whelmingly elected.
Okello says previously the Northern region has been electing FDC in 2006 but it has been lagging behind in service delivery.
He made the remarks after being nominated as the  candidate for Chwa East.Oryem further says the national unit platform remains silent in the region as its agenda has never been welcomed in the region.
Oryem mentioned the various NRM achievements such as construction of roads which is the biggest opportunity for the region's industrial opportunity among others.
Oryem who first held the Chua County NRM flag in 2001 before shifting to Chua East County from 2011 to 2016, lost  in  primary elections to Godfrey Luwo, a relatively new player on the political scene. Luwo polled 14,906 votes defeating Oryem who garnered only 9,036 votes.
