Lyantonde, Uganda – Gen. Kale Kayihura has urged young political aspirants in Lyantonde District to avoid entering politics solely for financial gain, warning that such motives often lead to disappointment and poor governance. Â
 Gen. Kayihura, speaking as the chief guest at an event organised by the Lyantonde University Students Association (LUSA), advised youth to instead leverage government programs for self-development before seeking leadership roles. Â
 He criticised leaders who prioritise personal enrichment over public service, stressing that "politics should be about service, not money." Â
 "Many enter politics expecting quick wealth but end up frustrated," he cautioned, urging aspirants to build skills and credibility first. Â
 Dr. Doreen Katushabe Birungi (Lyantonde Woman MP) highlighted ongoing water scarcity and poverty as key challenges needing attention. Â
 Alex Gumisiriza (Kabula MP) called for youth-focused policies to reduce unemployment-driven political desperation. Â
 Ali Moses Ssemanda (Lyantonde LCV Chairperson) condemned money-driven politics, warning it breeds corruption. Â
 Generous Kabarongo (Woman MP aspirant) urged youth to seek leadership with integrity, not just for financial motives. Â
 Dorcus Natukunda (Deputy RDC) warned against violence and malpractice in upcoming elections, vowing strict enforcement. Â
