Lyantonde, Uganda – Gen. Kale Kayihura has urged young political aspirants in Lyantonde District to avoid entering politics solely for financial gain, warning that such motives often lead to disappointment and poor governance.
Gen. Kayihura, speaking as the chief guest at an event organised by the Lyantonde University Students Association (LUSA), advised youth to instead leverage government programs for self-development before seeking leadership roles.
He criticised leaders who prioritise personal enrichment over public service, stressing that "politics should be about service, not money."
"Many enter politics expecting quick wealth but end up frustrated," he cautioned, urging aspirants to build skills and credibility first.
