Honorable Cissy Namujju urged Lwengo residents to avoid violence ahead of the election season while distributing tents to local council leaders.

The District Woman Member of Parliament for Lwengo, Honourable Cissy Namujju, has called upon the residents of Lwengo to avoid violence, especially as the district approaches the election season. Hon. Namujju made this appeal while distributing tents to local council leaders across the district's villages.

She specifically urged politicians to refrain from involving themselves in political conflicts, warning that such strife is dangerous as it breeds division and can ultimately lead to electoral defeat. Furthermore, she extended a call for unity within the National Resistance Movement (NRM), asking those who lost in the party primaries to come together and work with those who won for the sake of the party's collective progress in Lwengo.

Hon. Namujju also advised the village chairpersons to properly maintain the tents they have been given and to avoid favouritism in their distribution, which would help prevent conflicts within the community.

However, some of the chairpersons in the district used the opportunity to request that leaders address the various challenges they face. They highlighted pressing issues such as the lack of electricity, the scarcity of clean water, and poor road conditions.

These local leaders also expressed their sincere gratitude to Hon. Namujju for providing them with the tents. They explained that the high cost of renting such equipment had previously been a significant financial burden and a source of disruption for their community activities.
