Village leaders in Bbowa, Makulubita Sub-county, Luwero District, have expressed concern over Grace Nabirongo, a 31-year-old pregnant woman who is currently living alone in a dilapidated house. Nabirongo, who is deaf and mute, has been left to fend for herself, raising fears among local leaders that someone might harm her.
According to Swaibu Lukanga, the chairperson of the village, Nabirongo has been living alone since the death of her parents and sibling. Lukanga emphasized the community's fear that her vulnerable situation could make her a target for harm, especially since she resides in an isolated and deteriorating house.
Lukanga has called on well-wishers to come forward and assist Nabirongo, particularly as she is nearing her due date and requires urgent support.
Patience Tumwebaze, a relative of Nabirongo, shared that the family has been struggling since the death of her sibling. She revealed that the house Nabirongo is living in is in poor condition and urgently needs iron sheets for repairs to make it habitable.
Nabirongo, through her communication with Patience, expressed her distress over the state of the house, stating that it is infested with bedbugs and requires immediate attention.
The community is now rallying to provide assistance to Nabirongo, ensuring her safety and well-being as she prepares to give birth.
