Mityana Residents Left in Frustration as Energo Company Halts Highway Construction

Mityana, Uganda – Residents and business owners in Mityana Town are grappling with the aftermath of Energo Company's abrupt suspension of work on the Mubende-Mityana Highway, leaving behind unfinished sections, dust-filled roads, and safety hazards.

Key sections of the highway, including areas near Supreme, Bbanda Stage, and Ggombolola, were slated for upgrades but now remain in disarray.

Frustrated by the delays, locals near Red Cross have resorted to building makeshift speed bumps to slow down vehicles, while sections like Musalaba and Buswabulongo remain dangerously uneven.

A kilometre from Musalaba, the situation worsens in Wabigalo, where contractors left deep, water-filled trenches along the roadside. These pits now flood during rains, becoming hazardous for motorists and pedestrians.
