If you're teaching humanities then you must be human enough
Following the arts teachers demonstration entering in the third week, state minister for public service Marry Mugasa has issued strong warning against teachers who are teaching humanities. “If your teaching humanities then you must be human enough “says the minister.
She made the remarks while addressing the media at the media center today.Mugasa also reminded the teachers to consider themselves lucky as many of their colleague demand to be on payroll. The minister further confirmed to have had several engagements with the teachers where the ministry stated that there are no funds to respond to their claims but this fell on deaf ears.
Mugasa also noted that the existing funds were only to cater for elections.
The arts teachers demonstration has entered a third week accross  the country after these  are failed to agree with the ministers terms and condition. The teachers demand a salary enhancement t of head teachers to be increased from 2.2 million shillings to 6 million shillings. The teachers have also demanded an increase for the salaries of diplomas holders from 600,000 to two million shillings to 3 million shillings while the salaries of degree holders to be increased from 800,000 to  4 million shillings.Goverment requires 668 billion shillings to have the enhancements implemented.
