Uganda and UAE Strengthen Agricultural Ties at Nile Basin Expo

Jinja, Uganda – In a significant move to boost agricultural development, Uganda's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), H.E. Zaake Wanume Kibeedi, led a high-profile delegation of UAE investors to the ongoing National Agricultural Show at the Nile Basin grounds in Jinja.  

 
The agricultural exhibition, now in its fourth day, has become a hub for knowledge exchange between Ugandan farmers and international experts. Ambassador Kibeedi emphasised the visit's purpose: "We're exploring concrete ways the UAE can collaborate with Uganda to transform our agricultural sector through technology transfer and market access."

The event features agricultural organisations, farming technologies, livestock management demonstrations, and agri-business networking.
Poultry Experts Share Knowledge  
Kenchic Uganda, a leader in poultry farming, stood out with practical training sessions. Dr. Ronald Kiyaga, their veterinary expert, noted: "We're equipping farmers with modern techniques to improve productivity and profitability." Muhammad Nsuubuga added that their focus extends beyond theory to hands-on skills development.  

Youth Agriculture Program Launched  
In an innovative parallel event, organisers introduced a special youth-focused agricultural training program at the same venue. This initiative aims to cultivate farming interest among school-going children, ensuring the sector's future sustainability.
