Tragedy Strikes Nawanjuki Village as Two Security Guards Brutally Murdered

Nawanjuki Village in Nakisunga Sub-county, Mukono District, is in mourning following the horrific murder of two security guards—Ssenabulya Deo (50) and Onyaiti Joseph (25)—who were killed while on duty at Chard Energy fuel depot along the Katosi Road in Kyetume Village.

The assailants, whose identities remain unknown, ambushed the guards, stealing an undisclosed amount of money before attempting to burn their bodies to conceal evidence. As previously reported, the victims were found in a gruesome state, sparking outrage in the community.

The family of the deceased, led by Nakalanzi Moreen (widow of one victim) and the victims' children, have called on police to:
Apprehend the killers swiftly, increase security patrols around fuel depots and villages, install CCTV cameras at business premises to deter future attacks

"These killers must face the full force of the law," Moreen stated, emphasising that her husband was not only a breadwinner but also a pillar of their family.

Mufuwa Stephen, Director of Hank Services Company Ltd (the victims' employer), condemned the attack, warning that the killers would "pay with their lives." He urged remaining staff not to fear, promising enhanced security measures for workers.

Residents expressed growing fear, citing increased violent crimes in the area. Local leaders have demanded:   24/7 police surveillance around fuel stations, Stricter vetting of security personnel
Community policing initiatives

 Final Farewell
The victims were laid to rest in an emotional ceremony attended by hundreds. Rev. Kalema Pascal, who led the funeral service, urged against revenge, calling for trust in the justice system.

Forensic teams are analysing evidence from the scene. No arrests have been made yet, but police assure progress. Motive appears to be robbery, though ritual killing hasn't been ruled out
