MOURNING FOR RAJIV RUPARELIA

 

Government officials and Kampala's elite came together in grief at the home of Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, mourning the loss of his son, Rajiv Ruparelia, who died in a car crash on the Munyonyo-Busabala Flyover.  

Among the mourners was a Members of Parliament. who praised Rajiv as a hardworking and dedicated person.  

At around 1:54 AM, news of Rajiv Ruparelia’s death shocked the nation. Reports indicate that he was driving a Nissan GT-R (638L) when it crashed on the Munyonyo-Busabala Flyover, caught fire, and burned beyond recognition.  

Now, the city’s wealthy socialites, led by their chairman Kirumira Godfrey, are gathered at the riverside.  

Before his death, Rajiv Ruparelia was heading to Speke Resort Munyonyo to rest, as he was scheduled to attend an event today hosted by Jonathan Buteera, son of the late chief Justice Buteera

Family spokesperson Andrew Mwenda and Rajiv’s godmother have both spoken out about the tragedy.  

On behalf of the government, the State Minister for Trade expressed condolences, saying the country has lost a visionary contributor.  

Funeral arrangements remain unclear, as the family is coordinating with relatives abroad, particularly in the UK 

Rajiv, who had recently returned from the UK, was 35 years old and leaves behind one child. He was a key leader in managing the Ruparelia Group.  

Among city tycoon who have tuned up to mourn is Dr Hamis Kiggundu and Minister of State for investment Evelyn Anite,who said that Rajiv will never be forgotten in Uganda for his legacy of hardworking man
