Kawempe Police are actively investigating a tragic murder incident that occurred on February 25, 2025, in Kazo Central One Zone, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District. The deceased, identified as Nalubega Dorah Perus (25), was allegedly killed by her husband, Luwaga James, following a domestic dispute.
Preliminary reports indicate that the couple had a misunderstanding on the night of February 24, 2025, which was initially resolved. However, on the morning of February 25, the suspect allegedly lured the deceased into their house, where he assaulted her. The victim's distress calls alerted a neighbor, who sought assistance from the area chairman.
Upon arrival, the chairman and other community members found the suspect fleeing the scene. They later discovered the victim lying lifeless in a pool of blood. The suspect was apprehended by community members and handed over to the police.
The following actions have been taken:
1. Statements have been recorded from relevant witnesses.
2. The murder weapon has been recovered and preserved for forensic analysis.
3. The body of the deceased has been transported to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and further updates will be provided in due course.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police urges members of the public, especially couples, to seek peaceful and civil ways of resolving domestic conflicts rather than resorting to violence.
