A chilling debt collection turned deadly in Namuyenje village, Nakisunga Sub-county, as 34-year-old moneylender Anita Mutesi Nalule was stabbed to death by a client. The gruesome discovery was made when residents found her bloodied body in a bush near her Toyota Fielder (UBR 759V), with the murder weapon still lodged in her chest.
The tragedy unfolded when Nalule, accompanied by Elvis Katabazi (26), traveled to inspect property offered as collateral for an 18 million shilling loan. Witnesses report the negotiation turned violent, with Katabazi allegedly stabbing the lender multiple times before fleeing. Community members pursued and apprehended the suspect near the local chairman's residence.
Monica Abaho, a business associate, confirmed the loan transaction and property verification that preceded the attack. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango verified Katabazi's arrest, warning borrowers against violent resolutions to financial disputes.
