Buganda Mourns the Loss of Prince Simbwa Kazibwe Goloba

The Kingdom of Buganda is in mourning following the passing of Prince Simbwa Kazibwe Goloba, a member of the royal family and brother to the Kabaka of Buganda. The sad news of his demise was confirmed yesterday after he succumbed to diabetes at a hospital in Nsambya.

During a press conference held this morning at Bulange in Mengo, the Katikiro (Prime Minister) of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the kingdom. He described the late prince as a person of great value and significance to Buganda.

The Katikiro explained that, in accordance with Islamic traditions, the late prince will be laid to rest at Kasubi Nabulagala today, following prayers at Kibuli Mosque.

A committee has been appointed to oversee the funeral arrangements, led by the Deputy Katikiro, Twaha Kawaase. Other members include the Minister of Culture, Anthony Wamala, the Minister of Information, Israel Kitooke, and other officials. Katikiro Mayiga assured the public that all arrangements are proceeding smoothly.

Prince Simbwa was born on April 14, 1953, meaning he passed away at the age of 71. His death is a significant loss to the Buganda Kingdom, and his contributions to the kingdom will be remembered fondly.

The Kingdom of Buganda has called upon its subjects and well-wishers to join in mourning the late prince and to support the royal family during this difficult time.
