Prince Simbwa Kazibwe Goloba Daudi Laid to Rest at Kasubi Royal Tombs

Prince Simbwa Kazibwe Goloba Daudi, the elder brother of Sabasajja Kabaka (the King of Buganda), was laid to rest yesterday evening at his ancestral home in Masiro, Kasubi, as Uganda mourned his passing.  

The burial ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including representatives from the Central Government and Mengo (Buganda Kingdom). Among the attendees were Queen Sylvia Naginda, Katikiro (Prime Minister) Charles Peter Mayiga, Buganda Kingdom ministers, Prince Kasimu Nakibinge, Prince David Wasajja, and others.  

In his speech, Katikiro Mayiga expressed deep sorrow, stating that Buganda has lost a highly respected and influential figure among the princes, one who dedicated his life to serving the kingdom.  

The late prince's sister, Nasolo Dorothy, and other family members shared their grief, expressing how difficult it was to come to terms with the loss of their beloved brother.  

Following the funeral rites, the body of the late prince was laid to rest in the royal tombs at Kasubi. During the ceremony, Prince Nadim Nakibinge, the grandson of the deceased, was officially recognized as the heir.  

The late prince is survived by five children, including two princes and three princesses. He passed away at the age of 71.
