Every four years, Sports Club Villa elects its president. The last election was held in 2021, and Hajji Omar Mandela is the current president.
Today, Hajji Farouk Meywa, who hopes to become the next president, officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming elections while meeting with fans from different parts of the country.
Hajji Farouk Meywa mentioned that many aspects of the club are not functioning well. He believes that if he takes over, he will bring back all former players to work together and revive the team. He highlighted the biggest challenge facing the club is securing a home ground, as they currently play at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku and the Luzira Prisons Ground. He assured supporters that if elected, he would prioritise building a standard stadium for the team.
This announcement comes on the heels of the club's acquisition of a new coach, Zeljko Kovacevic.
