Hamza becomes 3rd after Butambala's Hassan Mubiru and Gomba's Simon Dungu, stepping down.
Ssingo FC has been rocked by a shockwave of resignations following their third consecutive draw in the ongoing Buganda Masaza Cup campaign.
Head coach Hamza Lutalo, along with his entire technical team, has officially stepped down from their roles, citing insecurity and internal sabotage.
The dramatic turn of events came in the aftermath of Ssingo’s 0-0 stalemate away to Butambala on Saturday, July 12th, a result that left the once-dominant side winless in three consecutive outings and now languishing 4th in the Muganzirwazza Group with just three points
In a hard-hitting resignation letter addressed to the head of Ssingo Ssaza on behalf of the Buganda Kingdom’s Mukwenda, Ssaza manager, and the secretary, Lutalo, cited hooliganism as a key reason for their departure.
Shocking scenes unfolded after the game as irate fans hurled stones at the coaching crew, endangering their lives in a show of frustration that spiralled out of control.
“The safety of our lives has been compromised. We cannot continue working in an environment where violence is normalised,” Lutalo stated in the letter.
The former Uganda Cubs coach didn’t hold back in highlighting the glaring administrative cracks within the Ssingo camp.
He pointed out poor team welfare, delayed allowances, and external interference in technical decisions as major stumbling blocks that crippled the team’s momentum.
Lutalo openly named top officials, including manager Farid, Ndaula Isma, and technical director Hussein Mbalangu, accusing them of overstepping their mandates and even dictating the matchday squad.
“The integrity of our coaching responsibilities was continually undermined.
We couldn’t operate freely, nor could we execute our strategy independently,” Lutalo lamented.
His resignation also sees the departure of seasoned figures like Edward Golola, Kato Ssenyonjo Eria, Hassan Kivumbi, and Solomon Mboowa, leaving a massive technical vacuum ahead of Ssingo’s next fixture.
The team is now on a desperate hunt for a new coaching unit as they brace for a must-win home game against Kkooki on Sunday, July 20, at the Mityana Ssaza Ground.
