Pastor Aloysius Bujjingo, the lead pastor of House of Prayer Ministries International, has completed his national identification registration at the Kololo Independence Grounds. The exercise is part of the ongoing national mass registration and renewal campaign being conducted by the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), targeting Ugandans who need new or renewed national IDs.
Pastor Bujjingo arrived at the registration centre, accompanied by his aides, and was warmly received by NIRA officials. He went through the biometric verification and data confirmation processes before receiving confirmation of his successful registration. His presence at the venue drew attention from members of the public, with some of his followers taking the opportunity to greet and take photos with him.
Speaking briefly after the exercise, Pastor Bujjingo urged Ugandans, particularly the youth and members of his congregation, to take the process seriously and ensure they are properly registered. He emphasised the importance of the national ID in accessing government services and fulfilling one’s civic responsibilities, calling it “a vital tool for every Ugandan.”
NIRA officials praised Pastor Bujjingo for leading by example and encouraged other public figures to participate in mobilising their communities for registration. The Kololo Independence Grounds remain one of the major centres for the exercise, which is expected to run until the end of the government-set deadline, with thousands of Ugandans turning up daily to update or acquire their national identification
