Over 142 Councillors Nominated by EC Mukono district

Mukono, Uganda - The Electoral Commission Mukono district has nominated over 142 councillors and three for district chairperson.

Mukono district Council comprises of 41 councillors including those from Special Interest Groups; youths, elderly, women and people with disabilities.

Mark Mayanja the Mukono district election officer said that the process at Local Council 5 was successful.

They are committed to serving the community 2026-2031.

Among the notable figure nominated for the district chairperson is Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonya former Mayor Mukono Municipality who also served as Mukono South Member of Parliament.

Muyanja emphasized the need to improve Mukono district infrastructure and access to clean water beyond party lines.
