Touch Mafabi, Lose Your Teeth,Diffe Shoots Down Coup Rumors, Declares Total Loyalty to Mafabi

SIRONKO, UGANDA – In a dramatic move to quash swirling political rumors, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman of Sironko Town Council, Hajji Abdallah Diffe, has come out forcefully to deny allegations that a meeting he convened was part of a plot to oust his superior, the Sironko District NRM Chairman, Hajji Mafabi Lumolo Sulaman.

Speaking with palpable conviction on Tuesday, Hajji Diffe characterized the claims as the work of malicious individuals intent on sowing division within the party’s leadership in the district. He instead clarified that the assembly, which brought together all 42 NRM sub-county chairpersons, was focused on the economic empowerment of party leaders and strategizing for the upcoming village elections.

“Let me make this very clear: if it is about ousting Mafabi from his seat, I would be the very last person to do so,” Hajji Diffe stated emphatically. “I regard Hajji Mafabi Lumolo Sulaman as my political mentor. I still need him far more than he needs me. How can a small man like me plan to remove such a pillar? That is unthinkable.”

Hajji Diffe elevated his defense of his boss, describing the District Chairman as one of the strong pillars of the NRM not only in Sironko but in the entire Bugisu region. He warned that any attempt to unseat Hajji Mafabi would have to go through him first.

“Whoever wants to oust him must first fight me to reach him. This is a man who built the very first NRM party offices in the whole country; he should not be taken so lightly. He deserves all the respect in Sironko District as far as NRM is concerned,” a charged Hajji Diffe declared, effectively serving notice to anyone plotting against his boss.

Setting the record straight on the true purpose of the high-level gathering, Hajji Diffe explained that the agenda was purely developmental and organizational. He stated that his primary aim as the leader of all chairpersons is to pave the way for their collective economic development.

“Our first resolution is to reorganize our SACCO and make it fully operational so that we, as leaders, can plan for our economic growth. The second item was to lay the ground for the coming village elections and ensure we deliver a 100% NRM flag vote across every village in Sironko District,” he clarified.

Hajji Diffe concluded by calling for unity within the party ranks, asserting that external forces trying to divide them would not succeed. “We have come from far with Hajji Mafabi, and we still have a lot to do together for the NRM in Sironko,” he said.
