Competition for Katikamu north MP has intensified after three candidates completing the nomination process.Katikamu which is one of the battle field for the NRM 1986 liberation war has been dominated by the opposition after the national unit platform Flag bearer Hassan Lukalidde winning the previous election from an NRM candidate Edward Sembatya who had won the election after the then Mp who was also the attoney general doctor Kiddu Makubuya who had won this sit from the constituency assembly.
Among the new giants who has expressed interest is Patricia Magara who got nominated yesterday. Speaking to salt fm in an exclusive interview Magara who will be contesting for the second time pledged to address the issues for compensating Luweero war claimants who have not been compensated plus emphasizing the various government programs which include PDM.

However Hassan Karume who is the to contest for the same seat claims to advocate for the construction of the road system in the constituency. This include The semuto –Katikamu road which is still undergoing rehabilitation and Kalasa Ndejje road which the president had promised to reconstruct at his previous birth day rally which was at Semuto.

The competition for this seat has also become competitive after attracting a fresh youth Marvin Mugisha which has expressed interest to vie for the same seat. After the nomination Mugisha pledged to improve the NRM party mobilization strategy by attracting the youth.
