KAMPALA – Professor Dr. Madhu Krishan, a notable figure and friend to Uganda, has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his victory in the January 15, 2026 general elections.
Professor Madhu arrived in Uganda on Monday, May 11th, 2026. The Government of Uganda officially received him at Entebbe State Lodge as a special guest of President Museveni. His visit was primarily to attend the President’s swearing-in ceremony, which took place the following day, Tuesday, May 12th, 2026.
Professor Madhu is regarded as a great friend of Uganda and a close personal ally of President Museveni. It is for this reason that the President personally invited him to witness the inauguration, marking the start of the President’s seventh term in office. The high-profile ceremony was attended by several African heads of state, foreign prime ministers, and an estimated 100,000 Ugandans.
Though he resides in America, HE Professor Madhu is of Indian origin, born in Nakawa. He is a highly educated man, but above all, he describes himself as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a preacher of the Gospel.
This is not his first visit to Uganda. Last year, he was in the country to present awards of appreciation to the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Persis Namuganza, as well as to the State Minister for Trade, Hon. David Bahat.
Professor Madhu extended his best wishes to President Museveni for a successful term in office. He prayed that God would protect the President, grant him many more years of good health, and enable him to continue leading Uganda while furthering the cause of African unity.
Even though the inauguration events have concluded, Professor Madhu remains in Uganda. He has chosen to stay longer because of his deep affection for the country and the many friends he has here.
Later today, he is scheduled to meet with State Minister for Trade, Hon. David Bahat, for further development engagements. The details of their discussions are yet to be disclosed, but sources indicate the talks will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and trade relations.
Professor Madhu enjoys a good working relationship with the Ugandan people, who hold him in high regard.
