The PLU diaspora branch has extended a helping hand to vulnerable mothers and their children. The group delivered essential supplies including hampers with milk and other nutritional items, aiming to support early childhood development and maternal welfare.
Mr. Steven Ruta, the coordinator of the PLU diaspora branch and the brains behind this initiative, said the gesture was part of answering the call made by the party's National Chairman, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as he marked his 52nd birthday.
The initiative was themed "Run for Charity, Run for Hope," and according to Ruta, all proceeds from the charity run were channeled to needy households that lack any other form of support.

The beneficiaries received hampers containing milk and other essentials designed to boost proper child growth and nutrition. The intervention also aimed to ensure that nursing mothers have access to adequate milk supplies.
The event took place at the SFC headquarters in Entebbe. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba was represented by Brigadier General Paul Namawa, the Chief of Staff of the Special Forces Command (SFC).
Meanwhile, as part of the activities to mark General Muhoozi's 52nd birthday, the group also planted 52 trees in various locations across Entebbe. This environmental initiative symbolizes their commitment to fighting climate change and protecting the natural ecosystem.
