Museveni’s Inauguration Set for Tuesday at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds

The inauguration of Uganda's new President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, will take place on Tuesday, lasting only a single day. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM (morning) at the Kololo Independence Grounds.

President Museveni, who was re-elected on January 15th of this year, will be sworn into office in a ceremony organized under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, through which he secured his return to power.

In preparation for the event, the office of the NRM Secretary-General from Kyadondo has been actively coordinating logistics, including issuing invitation cards to guests that will grant them access to their designated areas at Kololo.

However, tensions have emerged within the party’s organizational structure. According to our sources , members from the Office of the National Chairman at Kyambogo, led by Hadijah Namyalo, have expressed dissatisfaction with the process. They claim that while they were actively involved in securing the electoral victory for the NRM, they have now been sidelined in the planning of the inauguration ceremony.

Sources further indicate that these members have appealed to Namyalo, requesting that if they are to be left out of the preparations, they should at least be allowed to assist in hosting the President after the swearing-in, to congratulate him on his victory.

However, Namyalo reportedly responded that there is nothing she can do for them. She stated that the President delegated her to the Kyadondo secretariat to work with them , unfortunately  NRM Secretariat never allowed Office of the national chairman.

In a further development Namyalo added that even though the Secretariat has run out of funds to mobilize people to go to Kololo, that will not stop them. She urged supporters to mobilize themselves using their own resources.
