Nuwagira "Toyota" Michael Kaguta Accuses City Authorities of Sabotaging Government Efforts
KAMPALA, UGANDA – The Deputy Head of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Nuwagira Michael "Toyota" Kaguta, has launched a scathing attack on Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for what he calls "gross negligence" in maintaining the city, accusing officials of deliberately tarnishing the government's image.
Key Allegations:
"Kampala is a Mess!": Toyota, while touring the city, expressed shock at the overflowing garbage, clogged drainage systems, and stagnant water—conditions he claims are engineered to make the government look bad.
"KCCA is Sleeping!": He slammed the authority for failing to execute its mandate, demanding immediate dismissals of negligent officials.
Health Crisis Looming: With cholera outbreaks reported in some divisions, he warned that KCCA’s inefficiency is putting lives at risk.
Speaking at Forest Mall:
During a public engagement, Toyota doubled down on his criticism:
"If KCCA can’t do its job, they should step aside for those who can!"
He also called for urgent garbage collection and drainage clearance before the rainy season worsens the situation.
Political Undertones? Critics question whether this is a genuine cleanup call or a strategic move to justify a takeover of KCCA operations by progovernment entities.
Public Outcry: Residents complain of rising heaps of trash in neighborhoods like Nakawa and Makindye, with some alleging mafiastyle sabotage in waste management contracts.
