In a recent gathering,NRM leaders in Nakawa have outlined their strategy to secure victory for President Yoweri Museveni and other party flag bearers in the upcoming 2026 elections.
Â
The meeting, which emphasised discipline and a clear campaign roadmap, was addressed by prominent party figures.
Â
Shadrack Nzeire Kaguta, the Former NRM District Chairman for Kiruhura and the Patriotism League Coordinator for the Western Region, has highlighted the importance of humility and proper conduct.
Â
He pointed out the negative impact of government workers who mistreat citizens in their offices, stating that such behaviour drives people away from the NRM government.
Â

Â
Nzeire made these remarks during a meeting in Nakawa Sub-County. The meeting brought together over 60 NRM structure leaders from the Nagulu Remand Centre zone.Â
Â
The primary agenda was to equip these leaders with tactics for mobilising voters to support President Museveni and all NRM party candidates in the 2026 general elections.
Â
Â
Â
The crucial meeting was convened at the offices of the Presidential Representative in Nakawa. It was chaired by the NRM Nakawa Chairman, Wagaba Ismail, and attended by the Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Benson Edrine, along with his four deputies. Chairman Wagaba used the occasion to commend the grassroots leaders for their relentless efforts, which he credited for the party's strong performance in the area during the past NRM elections.
Â
Â
Â
Â
RCC Benson Edrine,a staunch NRM supporter, made a direct appeal to party members. He urged them to campaign for President Museveni in the 2026 polls, linking the leader's continuation in office to job security.Â
Â
Furthermore, Edrine tasked NRM members with thoroughly understanding the party's manifesto, which is based on historical achievements, so they can educate the public and secure votes based on a record of delivered promises.
Â

Â
A significant point addressed was the practice of ferrying people from other areas to vote, which has previously hurt the NRM's credibility.Â
Â
According to Nzeire, this tactic has been abolished. He announced that campaign funds will now be channeled directly through local NRM leaders in the villages to ensure mobilization is organic and community-based.
Â
Â
Â
The mobilisation drive is gaining momentum across the country. The NRM leader, who also holds the party flag, is currently conducting similar mobilisation tours in the West Nile region, with plans to extend the activities to other areas.
