NRM Launches 2026-2031 Manifesto

NRM Launches 2026-2031 Manifesto in Makindye, Kicks Off Campaigns in Greater Luwero and Luuka

KAMPALA, UGANDA – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) held a significant gathering in Makindye Division, where President Yoweri Museveni officially launched the party's manifesto for the 2026-2031 term, setting the stage for his campaign activities.

The high-profile manifesto launch was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the renowned preacher Alosyious Bujjingo of House of Prayer Ministries International. Bujjingo opened the event with a prayer for the success of the manifesto and the NRM's campaign for the next term.

The event proceeded with a symbolic moment as the guest of honour, Maj. Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of Uganda, was welcomed. She received a blessing from Pastor Bujjingo before taking her seat. Other top officials in attendance included the Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, several ministers, the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (CEC), and many other leaders, all gathered at the venue between Sanyu and Ndulu.

Steven Bujjingo, the NRM flag bearer for Nakasongola Constituency, announced that the NRM campaigns would head to Greater Luwero the following day. He expressed confidence in the party's strength and the unwavering support of their supporter, President Museveni.

Several MPs, including Judith Abaho of Makindye East, Doreen Keita of Makindye West, and the MP for Kayesu in Wakiso District, praised the NRM manifesto drafters and urged the public to vote for the NRM to ensure the continuation of the projects and promises outlined in the newly launched document.

The MP for Kasambya and National Treasurer of the NRM, David, along with NRM chairpersons from various districts, commended the NRM's achievements. Their campaign message centres on "consolidating what has been achieved," and they affirmed that the NRM is the truthful choice.

The NRM Spokesperson, Emmanuel Dombo Lumala, confidently stated that the NRM is firmly established and expressed optimism that the elections in January of the coming year will be peaceful. He advised opponents to prepare for a loss.

The unveiled manifesto outlines a focus on infrastructure development, particularly in the water sector, healthcare, science and technology, education, and security. Party members who were interviewed expressed their excitement, stating that this is exactly what Ugandans need.

In a related development, campaigns were also launched in Luuka District to secure votes for President Museveni and all NRM party candidates. Don Bwana Vicente, who is leading the efforts in Luuka, stated that the NRM has a record of accomplishments, and it is now time to mobilise support to protect these achievements.

Other NRM flag bearers in the district praised Don Bwana Vicente's leadership and have committed to climbing the symbolic "Gambalagala Hill" as part of their efforts to garner votes for the President.

This mobilisation drive in Luuka is particularly significant as the NRM performed poorly in the 2021 elections, losing several seats to opposition candidates. This time, the party is determined to reclaim the support it lost.
