Minister Babalanda Calls for Public Support to Improve Service Delivery

Ugandans are urged to support the government’s efforts to extend essential services.

KAMPALA, UGANDA – The Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda, has called upon Ugandans to support the government in its efforts to extend essential services to the common person.

She made this appeal while opening a conference that brought together officials from various service departments within the ministry and other government agencies. The meeting was convened to review how these services have been delivered to workers and their contribution to the national treasury over the past 15 years, from 2010 to 2025.

A report presented at the conference indicated that sectors such as trade, land, agriculture, education, mining, banking, insurance, and tourism have increased revenue collection. However, the trade sector is noted as still requiring more effort to fully recover, especially in the post-pandemic period.

Minister Babalanda stated that the government has a responsibility to continue improving service delivery, acknowledging that it cannot provide jobs for all Ugandans.

With the nation heading into an election next year, Ugandans have been asked to support the government currently in power to ensure that the achievements made so far are further enhanced.

In her closing remarks, the state minister for economic monitoring, Beatrice Akello, urged every citizen to work to complement government efforts, make use of the available government projects, including the parish development model, emyoga and others, to get them out of poverty.

She stressed the need to get out of the box and do things differently to boost the service sector, improve integrity, loyalty and others.
