Massive Turnout as Butuntumula Sub-County Leaders Take Oath

There was a massive turnout of voters in Butuntumula Sub-County, Katikamu North, as they gathered to witness the swearing-in ceremony of the sub-county chairperson and councilors.

The event was led by the Town Clerk of Bombo, Nakamate Irene, while the NRM spokesperson, Rogers Mulindwa, was the chief guest.

According to reports, the NRM’s near-total victory across sub-counties in the area has been credited to Mulindwa, who helped mobilize and steer the electorate toward success. The newly sworn-in sub-county chairperson, Tebasingwa Shaban Mulan, and the councilors took their oaths, with clan members present to ensure that no foreign interference would disrupt their leadership.

Mulindwa, in his speech, encouraged the people to follow President Museveni's example by waking up from slumber and working hard. He also gave boda boda riders a cash donation of 500,000 Uganda shillings. He explained that during the election period, the riders had asked for support to build small shelters at their stages where they could protect themselves from the sun and rain.
Mulindwa was also clear and direct during the swearing-in of councilors set to represent Luweero Sub-County.

This comes at a time when the sub-county chief, Prince Richard Simbwa, has vowed to crack down on land thieves.

Mulindwa informed the gathering that he had met with President Museveni and raised key issues affecting Luweero District, including the state of the local hospital. He added that soon, he would ensure that a pineapple juice-extracting machine is constructed for the community.
