Col. Wilson Bagonza has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his continued support towards the training and equipping of the UPDF, which he said has strengthened the army’s effectiveness.
 He made the remarks while officiating the opening of the 3rd Special Forces Command (SFC) Inter-Unit Rifle Competition at Fort Samora Machel Training School in Kaweweta, where he represented SFC Commander, Maj. Gen. David Mugisha.
Col. Bagonza encouraged participants to take the competition seriously as a platform to sharpen their skills and uphold the professionalism of the force. The event features 11 teams from various SFC formations competing in challenges such as long-range shooting, hostage rescue, and direct action drills.
Lt. Col. Beyendera Edison, the school commandant, described the competition as a test of discipline and unity, while Col. Paul Lokut said the drills reflect real Special Forces mission’s worldwide and urged teams to maintain discipline and teamwork.
The ceremony was attended by senior commanders, instructors, and officers from different SFC units.
