MPs commend the fast-tracked distribution of PDM funds in Kampala, noting their positive impact on constituents.

Following the national leader’s directive to fast-track the distribution of PDM (Parish Development Model) funds in Kampala last Sunday, Members of Parliament have commended the initiative, stating that the funds have significantly helped lift their constituents out of poverty.

Robert Migadde Nduggwa, the MP for Buvuma Islands, noted that his constituency has benefited in multiple ways, further boosting its inclusion in the program.

He added that the President’s commitment to these initiatives has helped uncover irregularities, and he urged that all those involved in mismanagement be held accountable.

Under this program, each beneficiaries receive 100 million shillings per parish, and during his monitoring visits, the President has inspected various projects. MPs report that these projects have greatly improved household incomes.

Robert Rwakandare, a senior official in the President’s office, stated that this initiative has significantly advanced the implementation of the NRM manifesto.

He called on all youth beneficiaries and others set to receive support to avoid being exploited by politicians. Instead, they should focus on development and maintaining peace.

Meanwhile, political tensions continue to rise daily as the country prepares for the general elections scheduled for January 12th next year.
