President Museveni has responded to traders who operate at Kabaka's Market in Katwe, which was recently gutted by fire. The President has provided them with iron sheets to help them reconstruct their stalls that were destroyed.
The President, through the Office of the Director of Finance at State House, Jane Barekye, dispatched his Special Assistant on Buganda Affairs, Joseph Sewava Mukasa Ssekamula, to Katwe Market. Sewava delivered the funds that will be used to purchase the iron sheets that the President has bought for the traders.

Sewava also delivered a message from the President, who sent him to commend the traders for their peaceful conduct. He also urged them to embrace government development programs, including the Parish Development Model (PDM) and others.
The funds that the President sent to purchase iron sheets for these traders were handed over by Sewava to the market chairman, Davis Ssekungu, who received the message from the President.
Ssekungu expressed gratitude, saying, "His Majesty the Kabaka was also pleased and visited us in this market after the fire."
The traders, including one identified as Kambejja Aishanuru, thanked the President. However, they also requested that he consider providing them with startup capital. They noted that they need operating funds to restart their businesses, as they were left with nothing, not even half of what they had before.
